Which Running Boards Fit Your Truck? Pick Make, Year, Cab and Bed
No board is listed for every truck. Each part is built for specific model years and cabs, sometimes bed lengths, so you need four things: the truck, the year block, the cab name and, for a wheel-to-wheel board, the bed. Pick your truck below to see what the listings and maker sheets state for it.

Straight answer
Running boards are sold by truck, year block and cab, so start with those three. Ram 1500 splits at new body versus Classic, Silverado at 2019 with an LD exception, Tacoma at 2023 and 2024, Tundra at CrewMax versus Double Cab, F-150 at SuperCrew versus other cabs. We repeat what listings state and mark it. Check your exact year and cab on the listing before you buy.
Pick your truck. Five trucks have their own page with year blocks, cab names and a place to start. The rest are on this page, further down. If you would rather answer three questions, use the fit finder.

The splits that catch people
These are not our rules. They come out of listing titles and maker sheets, and we say which. Fit here is never worked out from a year range.
| If you drive | The trap | Who says so |
|---|---|---|
| Ram 1500, 2019-2024 | New body and Classic are separate listings. One title reads "Not fit 19-24 Classic". | Listing title |
| Silverado or Sierra, 2019 | Several titles leave the 2019 LD/Limited out of the 2019-up range, or list it with 2007-2018. | Listing titles only; no GM document read |
| Silverado 1500, 2027 | Unverified. No title we read names it. HD titles that run to 2027 are a different truck. | Our reading of the titles |
| Silverado and Sierra HD | The 1500 and HD change in different years: one title says 2019-2026 for the 1500 and 2020-2027 for the 2500 and 3500HD. | Listing title |
| F-150 | The main 2015-up titles we read name SuperCrew. Do not carry them over to a SuperCab. | Listing titles |
| Tacoma | 2005-2023 and 2024-up are separate part numbers. Double, Access and XtraCab are separate too. | Listing titles |
| Tundra | CrewMax and Double Cab are separate listings. | Listing titles |
| Any "Double Cab" | The word means different cabs by truck. ARIES files the Silverado and Tundra Double under extended and the Tacoma Double under crew. | ARIES |
The cab column is where most wrong orders happen. According to ARIES, a regular cab has two front-hinging doors, an extended cab has smaller rear doors or a seat-forward layout, and a crew cab typically has four full-size doors. ARIES calls its table a help for understanding, so use it as a guide and go by your maker's name. Extended cab vs crew cab goes through every maker.

A few notes on those lines. The Tyger title for the Ram 2500 and 3500 step also covers the older Ram 1500, and Tyger's sheet for it says drilling may be required. The Tyger title for the F-150 and Super Duty says Supercrew Cab for all of them, so a Super Duty owner should read it closely. The AMP Ram HD and Super Duty titles name no cab at all.
"Listing data only" on a line means we read the title and nothing else. "Our pick" appears only where we also read a maker sheet.
What the bed changes
Most running boards in our data are cab-length, and for those the bed stays out of it. A wheel-to-wheel board runs from the front wheel to the rear wheel, costs more according to ARIES, and has to be listed for your bed length as well. Bed and cab fitment shows how to read those titles.
Style comes after fit
Once you know what is listed for your truck, pick the shape. The names overlap: one Tyger title says running boards, side step, rail and nerf bars at once. Go by the shape and width in the title.
- Wide, flat step: side steps and boards, commonly 6 inches according to the titles.
- Slim tube or rail: nerf bars, commonly 3 to 3.5 inches in the titles we read.
- Motorized step that folds away: power running boards, with a harder install.
If you want it narrowed down, the best running boards page names one choice per truck and use.
Not covered yet
Ranger, Frontier, Ridgeline, Titan and Maverick have no fit data on this site. That means we have not read their listings for this page. It does not mean nothing is sold for them.
Everything above is what a seller or maker has written. Nobody here has fitted these parts. How we verify fitment explains what we read and what we leave out. Check your exact year and cab on the listing before you buy.
Shopping by make? See Ram, Chevy, Ford and Toyota. Trucks with thinner data, such as the Nissan Titan, are on other trucks.
Tailgate questions
Do running boards fit all trucks?
No. The listings we read are cut by truck, year block and cab, and some rule out a body style by name. One Tyger title covers the 2019-2027 Ram 1500 crew cab and says it does not fit the 2019-2024 Classic. Check your exact year and cab on the listing before you buy.
How do I check that a listing is right for a truck?
Read the whole title, not the first line. Look for your years, your exact cab name, and any exclusion such as Classic or LD. If the title leaves out the cab or the years, treat it as unconfirmed and ask the seller. A fit line on this site repeats what the listing states on the date shown. It is not a guarantee.
Will F-150 SuperCrew running boards fit a SuperCab?
Do not assume so. The F-150 titles we read for Tyger and APS name the SuperCrew, and ARIES puts the SuperCab in a different group, the extended one. A board has to be listed for your cab. If a title names only SuperCrew, it says nothing about a SuperCab.
Do Silverado boards fit a Sierra?
Only if the title says so. Tyger titles name both the Silverado and the Sierra 1500. Some COMNOVA titles name the Silverado 1500 and mention the Sierra only for 2500HD and 3500HD. Trucks that look alike are not the same statement, so go by the words in the listing.
Does my bed length matter for running boards?
Only for parts that run that far. According to ARIES, cab-length boards run along the cab, while wheel-to-wheel boards run from the front wheel to the rear wheel. A wheel-to-wheel board also has to be listed for your bed. Our bed and cab fitment page shows how to read those titles.
