Go Rhino RB20 and RB20 Slim: Steel, Install Sheets and Why We Print No Load Rating
The Go Rhino RB20 is a steel running board that bolts on with truck-specific brackets, and retailers list it as galvanized. Go Rhino's sheets we read estimate 40 minutes to 1 hour and show no drilling step on the trucks they cover. We print no load rating, because we found none in a Go Rhino document. The RB20 Slim is a narrower version.

Straight answer
The RB20 is a steel running board with truck-specific brackets, and Go Rhino's sheets estimate 40 minutes to 1 hour with no drilling step on the three trucks we read. Retailers list a 7.5-inch profile and 16-gauge galvanized steel, with the Slim at 5.5-inch treads. No Go Rhino document we read gives a load rating, so we print none.
Short verdict
The RB20 looks like a straightforward bolt-on board, and that comes from the maker's sheets. What we cannot give you is a load rating or a clean warranty term, and we will not fill those gaps with dealer numbers. We also found no RB20 listing on Amazon in our data, so this page has no Amazon link for the RB20 itself. The Go Rhino brand page covers the rest of the lineup.
Reasons to buy
- Truck-specific brackets and a maker's sheet per application
- No drilling step on the three RB20 sheets we read
- Maker's time estimate of 40 minutes to 1 hour on those sheets
- Drop steps from Go Rhino can be added later
Reasons to skip
- No load rating in any Go Rhino document we read
- Retailers disagree on the warranty term
- Sheets name the truck and cab but no model years, so the years have to come from the listing
Who it suits: owners who want a steel board and do not mind buying from a dealer. Who it does not suit: anyone who needs a published load figure before buying, or who needs a part with a stated fit for their year in the same document.
Specs: who says what
| Spec | What we read | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Material | 16-gauge galvanized steel body | Retailer |
| Width | 7.5-inch profile; Slim has 5.5-inch treads | Retailer |
| Lengths | 92-inch listings at this retailer; other lengths exist per part number | Retailer |
| Finish | Textured black powder coat or bedliner | Retailer |
| Install | No drilling or trimming, brackets included on this listing | Retailer; the no-drilling part matches the sheets we read |
| Brackets | Some retailer titles say "boards only", so brackets can be a separate part | Retailer titles seen in search |
| Load rating | Not stated, so not printed | No Go Rhino document found |
| Warranty | Retailers differ: 5-year limited or limited lifetime | Retailers, per our research notes |
We could not read Go Rhino's own product pages. Its old address now forwards to RealTruck, and the RealTruck pages came back empty to us. That is why the retailer column is so busy. Treat those lines as what the dealer says and not as the maker's spec.
The sheets, truck by truck
| Sheet | Truck as named | Time, per Go Rhino | How it mounts |
|---|---|---|---|
| RB20 part 69417680 | F-250, F-350, F-450 Super Duty Super Cab | 40 minutes | Clip nuts in rocker panel holes; 3 brackets per side |
| RB20, CARiD file 69404887T | Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Crew Cab | 1 hour | Threaded holes behind plastic plugs; 4 mounting locations per side |
| CARiD file 69430687T | Dodge Ram 1500 Crew Cab | 1 hour | Threaded studs on the inner rocker panel; 3 mounting locations per side |
Three notes on those sheets. None of them names model years, and we will not guess them. The Ram sheet's cover says RB10 while its parts list says RB20, so check that it is the right sheet for your part. And the part numbers in the second and third rows come only from CARiD's file names, because the sheets themselves do not print them.
The Ram sheet warns that the lower studs may have too much paint on the threads. It says to start a nut and back it off to clear them gradually. The Super Duty sheet warns against installing the part on any other vehicle and says to re-check the bolts periodically.

Living with it
Go Rhino's sheets give the care advice. Wash the board often in cold climates to get road chemicals off. Do not use abrasive cleaners or polish compounds, only gentle soap and water, and if you wax it, use a non-abrasive one. Check and tighten fasteners regularly. One more line worth reading: the general text says some modifications may void the factory warranty. Read do running boards void your warranty for what the FTC and Ford say about that.
The sheet for the add-on drop steps, parts 69420000T and 69420000PC, shows them bolting into the underside of an RB20 with U-brackets, and estimates 30 minutes.
Owner experience
We collected no owner accounts of the RB20, and we did not put one on a truck ourselves. So we have nothing to tell you here, and we would rather say that than dress up a dealer blurb.
Cab length, wheel-to-wheel and shape
The part names we read in search results use "cab length" for many RB20 sets. A cab-length board runs along the cab only, and a wheel-to-wheel board also depends on the bed, as ARIES explains. If you cannot decide between a board and a tube, nerf bars vs running boards covers the shape question.
Alternatives
If you want a wide step you can buy from an Amazon listing that names your truck, this 6-inch Tyger is listed for the same Silverado crew cab as one of the sheets above:
Tyger Auto
Tyger Riser 6" (2019+ GM)
Tyger's 6-inch step for 2019-up GM crew cabs.
Why here: A wider step with the years, cab and part number in the title. It is a different product, and we hold no maker sheet for it.

Why it makes the list
- Title gives width, years and cab
- Tyger part number in the title (TG-RS6C60248)
Watch out for
- We could not read Tyger's page or sheet for this part, so this is listing data only
- No weight rating in the title, so none is printed here
Best for: GM crew cab owners who want a wider Tyger step.
Listing data only: We only have the Amazon listing title for this one, no maker sheet. It is an option, not a recommendation.
No title we read names the 2027 Silverado 1500. Check your exact year and cab on the listing before you buy. If a published load rating is your deciding factor, Westin states 300 lbs. of weight capacity per side for its Pro-e, on its own Westin page. That is a powered aluminum board and a different product. Our weight page lays out what makers state, and how we verify fitment explains why dealer figures stay off this page.
Tailgate questions
What is the weight capacity of the Go Rhino RB20?
We print no figure. None of the Go Rhino sheets we read states one, and the numbers we saw come only from retailers. A retailer number is not a maker number. Ask Go Rhino for the rating on your exact part number. Our weight page explains why these figures vary.
What is the difference between the RB20 and the RB20 Slim?
Width, according to a retailer. Rack Attack describes the Slim as a narrow version of the RB20, with step treads 5.5 inches wide, and gives the standard RB20 a 7.5-inch profile. We read no Go Rhino document comparing the two, so confirm the width on the part you order.
Does the Go Rhino RB20 need drilling?
The three RB20 sheets we read show no drilling step. They use threaded holes, threaded studs or clip nuts in the rocker panel, depending on the truck. Go Rhino's general safety text does mention drilling, and that is boilerplate across its products. Read the sheet for your own part number before you start.
How long does an RB20 install take?
On the sheets we read, Go Rhino estimates 40 minutes for the Super Duty Super Cab part and 1 hour for the Silverado 1500 Crew Cab and Ram 1500 Crew Cab sheets. Those are the maker's estimates for those parts only. We have not timed one, and other trucks may differ.
