Brand
Luverne Running Boards: Grip Step, O-Mega II and Bed-Length Part Numbers
LUVERNE is a work-truck brand: Grip Step aluminum boards with open expanded-metal treads, MegaStep with rubber treads, and O-Mega II oval side steps. Parts sell as a kit of boards plus vehicle-specific brackets, and wheel-to-wheel kits change with bed length. We have no LUVERNE listing in our Amazon data, so this page explains the catalog and sends you to LUVERNE's own lookup.
Straight answer
LUVERNE lists running boards by year, cab and, for wheel-to-wheel, box length. A kit number joins a board number and a bracket number, such as 415102-401530. Grip Step is 7 inches wide with open treads, and O-Mega II is a 6-inch oval. The warranty covers workmanship for life, components for one year and finishes for set periods, and it excludes corrosion and rust.
A running board is a step mounted below a truck's doors that makes it easier to climb in and out. LUVERNE's catalog is written with fleets in mind: wide treads and plain application tables.
Who is behind LUVERNE
LUVERNE's site says it has been "manufacturing truck accessories in the United States since 1963", and its catalog says the company manufactures in the USA. That is LUVERNE's own statement, and we did not check it independently.
The ownership trail is worth knowing if you ever need support. The warranty names Lippert Components, Inc. doing business as Luverne as the warrantor. The website footer names CURT Manufacturing LLC, and the 2023 catalog shows the Lippert group's brands, including CURT and ARIES.
The boards that matter on a pickup
All of this comes from LUVERNE's site and its 2023 catalog. Widths are the maker's.
| Line | Width and shape | Material and finish | Notes from LUVERNE |
|---|---|---|---|
| Grip Step 7" | 7-inch board | 5052 aluminum, textured black powder coat | Expanded metal treads. LUVERNE says open treads knock dirt and snow off boots |
| Grip Step XL | 9-1/2-inch board | Not checked | Pitched by LUVERNE at work vans |
| SlimGrip 5" | 5-inch board | Powder-coated aluminum | Catalog says no-drill, vehicle-specific application |
| MegaStep 6-1/2" | 6-1/2-inch board | Aluminum base, polished stainless front trim | Rubber treads |
| O-Mega II 6" | 6 x 2-3/4-inch oval | 6060 T6 aluminum, silver or textured black powder coat | Circular treads, step pads fix with self-tapping screws. Open on the bottom, not fully enclosed |
| Regal 7 | 7-inch oval | Stainless steel, polished or black powder coat | Non-skid step pads |
| Side Entry | 7-inch step | Stainless steel, polished or black powder coat | Mounts "high-and-tight against the rocker panels" |
If you are searching for LUVERNE nerf bars, the O-Mega II and Regal 7 ovals are the closest thing in the lineup. LUVERNE calls them side steps.
How the part numbers work
The application guides list three things per row: the kit number, the boards-only number and the brackets-only number. So 415102-401530 is boards 415102 with brackets 401530. Each row also marks the mount type as Rocker or Body. Some trucks show more than one bracket set, so the mount type is part of the choice.
Wheel-to-wheel: the part number follows the bed
This is where LUVERNE gets useful for fitment. Cab-length boards follow the cab, and wheel-to-wheel kits add a box length column. Here are Grip Step 7-inch wheel-to-wheel rows exactly as the 2023 catalog lists them. Years stop at 2023 because that is the catalog year.
| Truck, as listed | Cab, as listed | Box | Kit number | Mount |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Ford F-150, 2015-2023 | Crew | 5'6" | 415102-401530 | Rocker |
| Ford F-150, 2015-2023 | Crew | 6'6" | 415114-401530 | Rocker |
| Ford F-150, 2015-2023 | Ext | 5'6" | 415088-401530 | Rocker |
| Ford F-150, 2015-2023 | Ext | 6'6" | 415098-401530 | Rocker |
| Ford F-150, 2015-2023 | Ext | 8' | 415114-401530 | Rocker |
| Toyota Tundra, 2007-2021 | CrewMax | 5'6" | 415102-400757 | Rocker |
| Toyota Tundra, 2007-2021 | Crew | 6'6" | 415102-400757 | Rocker |
| Toyota Tundra, 2007-2021 | Crew | 8' | 415114-400757 | Rocker |
Look at the F-150 rows. The bracket number holds at 401530, and the board number changes with cab and box. Note the cab words too: LUVERNE writes Ext and Crew, not SuperCab and SuperCrew, and its Tundra rows say both CrewMax and Crew. The guide does not spell out what Crew means there, so match your doors and ask before ordering. Truck cab types has every maker's own word.
The O-Mega II guide works the same way, with separate silver and black kit numbers. Its printed rows did not line up cleanly when we read the PDF's text, so we do not reprint them here. LUVERNE's catalog points you to luvernetruck.com for current applications, and that lookup is your last check. For how much coverage you get and why bed length matters, see wheel-to-wheel running boards and bed and cab fitment.
Install and drilling
LUVERNE says many of its running boards and side steps "feature a no-drill installation". That wording matters: many, not all. The catalog also says some Grip Step assembly is required. We read no instruction sheet for a specific LUVERNE kit, so we print no install time and no step list. Check the sheet for your kit, and see how to install running boards for what the general job involves.
Warranty: read the table and the exclusions
The catalog says "limited lifetime warranty". The warranty itself, effective June 1, 2025, is more detailed.
| Product group | Workmanship and materials | Components and parts | Finishes and coatings |
|---|---|---|---|
| Powder coat over aluminum | Lifetime | 1 year | 5 years |
| All aluminum | Lifetime | 1 year | 5 years |
| Polished stainless steel | Lifetime | 1 year | Lifetime |
| Powder coat over stainless steel | Lifetime | 1 year | 5 years |
| Powder coat over carbon steel | Lifetime | 1 year | 3 years |
Four points deserve your attention:
- It covers the original retail purchaser and the original installation only, and it is not transferable.
- The terms describe a product sold by LUVERNE and purchased from LUVERNE. If you buy through another seller, ask how that applies to you.
- Labor for installing replacement parts is not covered, and neither is installation of the product.
- Damage from corrosion and rust formation is on the exclusions list, along with road hazards and impact damage. The catalog calls Grip Step "rust-free", so read those two together. See do running boards rust.
This is general information and not legal advice.
We also found no load rating for Grip Step or O-Mega II in the 2023 catalog, and we do not borrow one from a dealer. The weight capacity page explains why.
Who it suits, and the alternatives
LUVERNE makes sense if you want a wide, plain work step, need wheel-to-wheel by bed length, or run a fleet of the same truck. It makes less sense if you want to buy through an Amazon listing, because we cannot point you to one. For parts we can link, compare Tyger and Westin, or go by truck on all trucks. Our picks across brands are on best running boards, and the rules behind every fit line are on how we verify fitment.
Tailgate questions
Who makes LUVERNE running boards?
LUVERNE's warranty names Lippert Components, Inc. doing business as Luverne as the warrantor, and its 2023 catalog carries the Lippert group's branding. The website footer names CURT Manufacturing LLC, and the same site's store selector also covers ARIES and CURT. LUVERNE says it has made truck accessories in the United States since 1963.
Are LUVERNE running boards no-drill?
Not as a blanket rule. LUVERNE says many of its boards and side steps are designed for a no-drill install, which leaves room for exceptions. Its catalog calls SlimGrip a no-drill, vehicle-specific application. For any other kit, look at the instructions for your exact part before you plan the job.
What do LUVERNE part numbers mean?
A kit number joins two numbers. In 415102-401530, the first number is the boards and the second is the brackets, and the catalog also lists each one alone. On the F-150 Grip Step wheel-to-wheel rows, the bracket number stays the same across box lengths and the board number changes.
What is the weight rating on LUVERNE running boards?
We found none. The 2023 catalog's pages for Grip Step and O-Mega II give no load figure, and we do not fill that gap with a dealer number. Ask LUVERNE directly before you rely on one. The site's other load figures are on our weight capacity page.
Are LUVERNE running boards on Amazon?
We have no LUVERNE listing in our Amazon data, which does not mean none exists. If you do find one, match the kit number in the title to LUVERNE's application lookup. The warranty also says a covered product is one sold by LUVERNE and purchased from it, so ask the seller how that applies.
