Power Running Boards for the F-250 and F-350: 1999-2007, 2020-21 and 2022+ Part Splits

No single power step covers every F-250 or F-350. AMP's guides and the Amazon titles split them into blocks: 1999-2001 and 2004-2007, 2008-2016, 2017, 2020, and 2022 up. We have Amazon listings for three of those blocks, and only the oldest title names a part number. Westin lists its Pro-e for 2017-2027 by Crew Cab and SuperCab, a separate part from AMP's.

Straight answer

Match your F-250 or F-350 to a year block first. AMP part 75104-01A covers 1999-2001 and 2004-2007, 76234-01A covers 2008-2016, 76235-01A prints 2017 and 76236-01A prints 2020. The RealTruck titles for 2020-2021 and 2022-2027 give no part number or cab, so get those confirmed. Check your exact year and cab on the listing before you buy.

What's on this page

A power step folds down when a door opens and tucks away when it closes. Each one is built for specific model years and cabs, so start with the year block. Super Duty running boards covers the fixed boards.

Which part names which truck

Read November 2, 2026. Years, cabs and board lengths are as each guide or title prints them.

None in our data does not mean none exists. Check your exact year and cab on the listing before you buy.

Three gaps are worth knowing about:

  • 2002-2003. The 75104-01A title and the guide's table both skip these years, yet the same guide carries wiring pages headed 2002-2003. We read that as a question for RealTruck, not as fit.
  • 2018-2019 and 2021. The 76235-01A guide prints 2017 and the 76236-01A guide prints 2020. Neither prints these years, so we don't extend them. The Amazon title says 2020-2021, but with no part number we can't tie it to that guide.
  • The F-450. The 75104-01A title names it, while that guide's table says F-250 / F-350. If you drive an F-450, ask first.

What the AMP guides say about the job

These four guides show the work involved, for those part numbers only.

GuideStated timeSkill levelBoard cutHoles you drill
75104-01A3-5 hours4, ExperiencedSuper Cab trim 19", Regular Cab trim 31"9/32" through the pinch weld for lamp wires, plus a 25/64" bit at the rear linkage
76234-01A2-3 hours4, ExperiencedSuper Cab trim 19", Regular Cab trim 31"9/32" through the pinch weld for lamp wires, 25/64" bit in the tool list
76235-01A2-3 hours4, ExperiencedSuper Cab trim 13"19/64" into the pinch weld for LED wires, 9/32" through the floor on Super Cab
76236-01A2-3 hours4, ExperiencedRegular Cab trim 31", Super Cab trim 13"19/64" into the pinch weld for LED wires, 9/32" through the floor on Regular and Super Cab

All four say "Professional installation recommended". The 2008-2016, 2017 and 2020 guides use an OBD II plug, and they also connect power at the battery. On 75104-01A, the older wiring has you splice into door-ajar wires under the door panels and sill plates, and it differs by year and keyless entry.

The 2017 and 2020 guides have Crew Cab buyers thread the wires through an existing floor grommet, with no board cut. Regular and Super Cab owners cut the board.

None of the four prints a load rating or warranty terms, so we print neither for these parts. Before you buy, ask RealTruck for both on your part number. AMP Research has the terms from the guide we read for a GM part, and those belong to that part.

Westin: one table for 2017-up

Westin's Pro-e table reads cleaner than anything else here, and it names cabs:

TruckCabWestin part
2017-2027 F-250, F-350 Super DutyCrew Cab Pickup29-23945
2017-2027 F-250, F-350 Super DutySuperCab Pickup29-23935
2017-2026 F-450 Super DutyCrew Cab Pickup29-23945
2017-2026 F-450 Super DutyCab & Chassis, Extended Cab29-23935

Westin states "300 lbs. of weight capacity per side", a "no-drill DIY install" and a 5 year warranty, with its LED lights on a separate limited lifetime term. That is Westin's word on its own part, and it does not carry over to AMP. We have no Amazon listing for a Pro-e, so the Westin page is your next stop.

Other powered listings

Two more titles name these trucks, and neither gets a recommendation.

The Rough Country* title says "Ford F-150 Lightning/F-250/F-350/Raptor (2015-2026) Crew Cab". Its one year range covers several trucks. The WOLFBOX* title says "2021-2027 F150 Supercrew Cab | 2021-2027 F150 Lightning EV/F250/F350/F450/F550". WOLFBOX has its own fit line for those Ford trucks. Check your exact year and cab on the listing before you buy.

Tailgate questions

Do AMP power steps fit a 2017-2019 F-250?

We can't confirm the whole span. The AMP guide we read for 76235-01A prints only 2017 in its model year column, for SuperCab and SuperCrew. We have no Amazon title for that block. Westin does list its Pro-e for 2017-2027 F-250 and F-350 Crew Cab and SuperCab, so ask RealTruck about your exact year.

Do F-250 power steps need drilling?

The AMP guides we read do. All four have you drill the pinch weld for the lamp or LED wires. On 76236-01A, Regular Cab and Super Cab trucks also get a 9/32-inch hole through the floor. Westin describes its Pro-e as a no-drill install using vehicle-specific brackets. That covers those parts only, so read the guide for yours.

How long does it take to install power steps on an F-250?

It depends on the guide. AMP's guide for 75104-01A states 3-5 hours, and its guides for 76234-01A, 76235-01A and 76236-01A state 2-3 hours. All four rate the job skill level 4, Experienced, and recommend professional installation. We read no guide for the 2022-up part, so we give no time for it.

How much weight do F-250 power steps hold?

The four AMP guides we read state no load rating, so we print none for them. Westin states 300 lbs. of weight capacity per side for its Pro-e, across the line. Ask the maker for the figure on your exact part number, and don't take a number from a dealer page or a seller's title.

Are there power steps for a Regular Cab F-250?

Yes, on paper. AMP's guides for 75104-01A, 76234-01A and 76236-01A all give a Regular Cab row, and each has you cut the board to length. Westin's Pro-e table for the F-250 has Crew Cab and SuperCab rows and no Regular Cab row. The Amazon titles for 2020-up name no cab, so ask the seller first.
